Mayor Andy Ezard


MAYORAndy Ezard has served as Jacksonville's Mayor since April 28, 2009.  He is currently serving in his second four-year term in office.  Mayor Ezard served as City Clerk of Jacksonville from 2005 to 2009.

Prior to his service with the City of Jacksonville, Mayor Ezard worked in State Government from 1991 to 2005 - working in the Office of Governor Jim Edgar and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, the Mayor attended Franklin Elementary School, Turner Junior High School, and Jacksonville High School.  He received his Political Science Degree in 1991 from Eastern Illinois University.

He and his wife, Jenissa, are parents of one daughter, Kaylee, and one son, Drew.  Ezard's parents are Sally Ezard and the late Roger Ezard, both retiring as long-time teachers in the area. Andy's parent in-laws are David and Joyce Thompson.

Mayor Ezard is a member of the Jacksonville Kiwanis Club, Morgan County League of Women Voters, Jacksonville Chapter N.A.A.C.P., Morgan County Republican Women's Club, Morgan County Republican Lincoln Club, I-Fund, and Eastern Illinois University Alumni Association. In 2012, Mayor Ezard was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International and is an honorary member of the Jacksonville Rotary Club.  Mayor Ezard is also a member of the Central Christian Church.


Mayor Ezard is a member and serves on the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce Board, Jacksonville Convention & Visitors Bureau Board, Jacksonville Main Street Board of Directors, Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation Board, and serves as Vice President on the Illinois Municipal League Board of Directors.  


The Mayor enjoys his children, golf, barbecuing, and is an avid St. Louis Cardinals and University of Illinois sports fan.  On a local level, Ezard is a loyal supporter and fan of the JHS Crimsons and the Routt Rockets.
