Waterfowl Blinds and Deer Sites

Waterfowl Blinds and Deer Sites

Lake Jacksonville offers waterfowl (duck) blinds and deer sites for hunting duck and deer during the fall hunting seasons.

A person may enter a public lottery drawing, held every two years at the lake, to obtain
hunting site privileges at Lake Jacksonville for duck and deer.

Requirements for the sites are:
1.  Payment of fee ($75 for deer site; $200 for waterfowl blind).
2.  Meet all federal and state law requirements for hunting.

The next lottery drawing will be held August, 2021.

SPECIAL NOTICE FOR 2020 SEASON:

Lake Jacksonville 2020 Waterfowl Blind and Deer Site Drawings are cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  In-person drawings at the lake normally result in large crowd gatherings and the City chose to ensure public safety by following CDC guidelines and making the decision to cancel the drawings this year.

Site holders from the 2019 season have the opportunity to extend their leases for the 2020 season.  They are required to pay the appropriate fee of $75 for a deer hunting site or a $200 fee for the waterfowl hunting blind.  Fees are to be paid at the Lake Jacksonville concession stand starting September 1, 2020 and ending October 2, 2020.  Hunting information packets will be available at the time of payment.  The Lake Jacksonville concession stand is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Site holders who fail to pay the fee by the deadline of October 2nd will lose their site.  Any sites left unpaid will be given to the first alternate.  The next annual drawing will be conducted August, 2021.
