Annual City Wide Clean Up / Drop Off

2022 CITY WIDE CLEAN UP - 'DROP OFF' DATES:

June 9 - 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
June 10 - 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
June 11 - 7:00 a.m. to Noon

Since the closing of Jacksonville's landfill a number of years ago, Jacksonville residents no longer have a place to take unwanted household items.  In an effort to help its citizens, the City contracts with Buster Sanitation Service to conduct an annual cleanup.  Debris from the cleanup is hauled to the nearest landfill, located in Pike County.
The cleanup, normally in June, allows Jacksonville residents to dispose of unwanted household items by dropping them off at the Street Department at 200 West Oak.  Identification will be required.

Prohibited items include: hazardous waste; liquids; motor oil or paint (dried or solidified); concrete; rocks and dirt; batteries; tires.   Landscape waste (brush, grass, leaves or limbs) are not accepted at the clean up site, but can be dropped off at the Brush Drop Off Site.
